 Spring-Summer '23 Tatreez Patterns

From our first collection we've been incorporating many different Tatreez patterns into our garments. Palestinian Tatreez hand embroidery is rooted in Palestine and the region for centuries, traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. This art form comprises thousands of patterns, each one carrying a distinct meaning and representing a specific place of origin.

Since the beginning of Israel’s occupation of Palestine, Tatreez has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance and strength in the Middle East, continuing to reflect the experiences and lives of Palestinian people. Through this vast set of symbols, Tatreez became another language and not just an ornament.

Among the patterns we’ve incorporated this season are the Sukkar fil-Sahen (Sugar on a Plate) originating from the Ramallah and Jerusalem areas; Sarou (Cypress Tree) originating from Beer Sheba, Ramallah and Jaffa areas; Qrunful (Carnation) originating in the Ramallah area and others.

We are currently co-operating with over 100 artisans from different villages, cities and camps in the West Bank like Ramallah, Azzah and Dheisheh Arroub refugee camps.
