Triple Wimbledon champion Fred Perry was born to a cotton spinner. He played and fought his way through, always with style and despite the establishment. In 1952, he founded the Fred Perry brand, designing his first piqué polo shirt the same year. That shirt would transcend sportswear to streetwear on the backs of generation after generation of British youth subcultures.
With a mutual interest in craftsmanship, we are happy to announce that we have teamed up with Fred Perry on a five-piece collection of reworked Fred Perry silhouettes.
The five-piece collection features Fred Perry’s signature Twin Tipped Polo Shirt alongside the Taped Ringer T-Shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, Track Jacket and Track Pants. Each piece has been sent to Occupied Palestine and reworked by local craftspeople who’ve meticulously handcrafted traditional motifs and Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery known as ‘Tatreez’ into each piece. The technique, distinguished by its rich textures and colours, is a centuries-old art form, passed down from mother to daughter as a symbol of female strength across the SWANA region.
The special capsule collection is available now exclusively at our E-shop & at fredperry.com
